Women engineers elect new leaders, commit to professionalism

The Lagos State chapter of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) has elected new officials to lead the chapter for the next two years.

Those elected include Atinuke Owolabi, as new chairman, Bosede Oyekunle, as vice chairman, Ayodolapo Bello-general secretary, Suwebat Oriyomi Abubakar as assistant general secretary and Zansi Adebowale, as publicity secretary, among others.

In her acceptance speech, Owolabi pledged to be a voice for all female engineers in the state by setting the pace for others to follow in engineering development.

She assured that the association would consistently advocate for equality of opportunities by empowering members and cultivating a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere for aspiring engineers.
