Advancing Water Sustainability Through Gender Inclusion

APWEN Lagos Chapter recently hosted an impactful engagement centered on the theme “Water and Gender Equality,” bringing together key stakeholders, industry leaders, and advocates committed to sustainable development and women empowerment in STEM. The event highlighted the vital role women play in water sustainability, environmental management, and community development while promoting collaborative solutions toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Members of APWENLagos were joined by distinguished guests including Mr. Anifowoshe Rashaq (Deputy Director, Corporate Affairs, Lagos Water Corporation), Engr. Zansi Adebowale, MNSE (Vice Chairman, APWENLagos Chapter), Dr. Adebayo Alao (Head of Lagos Program, WaterAid Nigeria), and Mrs. Omobolanle Magbagbeola (Deputy Director, Lagos State Ministry of Environment & Water Resources). The event fostered insightful discussions on water accessibility, environmental sustainability, and empowering women to lead innovative solutions for a better future.
