To boost digital literacy skills, the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN), has inaugurated its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Girls in Engineering Club, aimed at grooming young experts to boost the nation’s rapid industrialisation.
About 300 undergraduates and young female engineers were inaugurated under the scheme named, APWEN Lagos Skill Up Initiatives tagged: “Skill Development on Industry Trends And Cutting Edge Technologies” in Lagos.

Stakeholders in the environment sector, yesterday, regretted that air pollution has become one of the biggest threats to human health, resulting in 99 per cent of the world’s population breathing polluted air, 6.7 million premature deaths yearly and 2.4 billion others exposed to dangerous danger.
The experts, including United Nations and others, under the aegis of Professional Women Engineers, therefore, called for sustainable synergy, advocacy and commitment by individuals, communities and governments to tackle the menace.

To boost competence of budding engineers, Lagos-based firm, MOMAS Electricity Meters Manufacturing Company Limited (MEMMCOL) said it will collaborate with the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) Lagos Chapter, towards training of the young female engineers.
The Managing Director of the company, Mr. Hammed Abiodun, stated this during an industrial visit by APWEN to the firm’s head office in Mowe, Ogun State. The visit, which was led by the chairman of the chapter, Mrs. Atinuke Owolabi, other executive members, attracted APWEN’s students from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and Lagos State University (LASU).
